House Republicans seek to repeal lightbulb efficiency standards that would save energy and save Americans billions of dollars. Why? I have no idea. I’m not sure if it’s out of some sort of misplaced libertarian idealism, a concealed corporate self-interest, or just rank stupidity. It’s always hard to tell with this lot.

Anyway, despite Republican attempts to confound the environmental movement at all turns, it’s clear that upgrading your lights is the right thing to do.
