In America, we take the availability of clean drinking water for granted. Any of us could go to our sinks and pour ourselves a glass of water, a glass of water a few of us would spurn in favor of “cleaner” bottled water. Unfortunately, not everyone in the world is as lucky as us. In underdeveloped nations in places like Sub-Saharan Africa, many people live without access to drinkable water due to industrial and agricultural pollution. Food supplies are contaminated due to polluted water and over a million people die per year as a result of drinking from polluted rivers and streams.
